This is a fine, accurate scale model boat kit of the famous Friendship Sloop. The original design stems from the 1800’s, when Maine fishermen began to work further out to sea on the Grand Banks. Seaworthiness, speed and capacity were the requirements. This design has proven its worth for 150 years, and you can still find many Friendship designs on the Maine coast as private yachts. The scale is 1”-1’, so your model of the original 31-footer is 31 inches long. Plank-on-bulkhead assembly faithfully reproduces the methods of real wooden boat construction. Everything you need for assembly is included, except paint and glue, and the comprehensive instruction sheet explains each step and any tools required.
